What travel plug is used in Tanzania
Type G and Type D plugs, and when you need an adapter rather than a converter.
Plan for Type G (BS 1363) three rectangular pins. Some older buildings still have Type D, with three round pins. Hotels in Arusha and Dar es Salaam commonly provide Type G.
If your charger label reads 100–240V, 50/60Hz, bring a plug adapter, not a heavy voltage converter. Hair tools and some medical devices are different; read those labels separately. Buy an adapter you can inspect, with the rating printed on it.
