Preparing your phone for exchange

Back up photos and chats first. Sign out of iCloud, Google and WhatsApp. Remove the SIM and any memory card. Disable Find My / Find Device. A locked phone cannot be resold, so it cannot be valued as a working handset.

Bring a passport or other ID if the branch asks for it, and the charger if you have the original. Do not send passwords to anyone on WhatsApp as part of the valuation.
